David Albert, Children's ENT Surgeon London
David has been a pioneer in paediatric (children's) ENT in the UK for many years. He trained at Great Ormond St Hospital, London and in Cincinnati, USA with Dr Robin Cotton
He was the first ENT surgeon in the UK to specialise exclusively in children and has been involved in many pioneering developments in airway, tonsil and adenoid surgery
His interests span the whole range of children's ENT conditions, from decision making in glue ear to complex surgery for airway stenosis. He has a special interest in airway surgery, choanal atresia, mastoid surgery and the best techniques for tonsil and adenoid surgery.
He is currently Senior ENT Surgeon at Great Ormond Street, London and a long standing member of the Medical Advisory Council at the Portland Hospital, London.
He has served as President of the Royal Society of Medicine (laryngology) and was also President of the British Association for Paediatric Otolaryngology.
He is currently the Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the European Society for Paediatric Otolaryngology.
He has published widely and is invited to lecture around the world. in 2019 he lectured and ran surgical courses in North Carolina, USA and Hong Kong as well as Belgium, Poland and France
He has been a visiting Professor in Chicago, Cape Town, New York, Poland and Hong Kong
He has 3 great children who keep him busy when not working as well as multiple hobbies from cycling to sailing. Home is shared with 4 cats, 12 chickens as well as numerous rabbits and foxes!
